I am firing gammas into a volume (say volume1) and recording energy deposition, track length, etc. I want to know if I can flag whether that energy deposition began from an event within volume1 or from outside that volume (in say volume2) and the track simply entered volume1, causing some energy deposition in volume2 and volume1. I need to know if they are from the same event. Secondly, how can I tell if the event ended in volume1, regardless of where the track originated?
In summary, how can I tell if an event began in a volume and then went on to deposit energy in a separate volume. And also if an event ended in a given volume, regardless of where it started.
