Question G4UserLimits: random walk

Forum: Event and Track Management
Date: 29 Sep, 2004
From: Daniel Barna <Daniel Barna>

I have a problem with G4UserLimits again. I have a pretty simple geometry (scintillator in a vacuum). The initial particles are low-energy electrons (few-100 eV), which would be then accelerated towards the scintillator, and deflected also, via an E-field). In order to visualize the effect of the E-field, I tried to limit the stepsize via G4UserLimits (otherwise the whole distance to the scintillator is taken in one step, and the curvature of the trajectory is not visible). However, if I set up a max stepsize like this: world_log->SetUserLimits(new G4UserLimits(1*cm)); then my electron begins a random walk in the vacuum.

Thank you, Daniel
