None Range cuts , Energy deposit

Hi

1)

I have set the production cut for electrons to 1.5cm, yet as you can see 
from the G4Track info, electrons with a range of less than 1.5 cm 
are being produced. Have I misunderstood something?

Here is the code I use to set the production cuts:

SetCutValue(15*mm, "gamma");
SetCutValue(15*mm, "e-");
SetCutValueForOthers(defaultCutValue) ;


2)

I need to access the energy of the photon in the step before it 
undergoes a photoelectric absorption (because I want  to get energy 
deposit assuming all secondaries are locally absorbed).  
Have tried:
 
en= step->GetTotalEnergyDeposit()    (gives en < photon energy)
and
en = track->GetKineticEnergy()   (gives en = 0) 

Is there an easy way to do this in UserSteppingAction ()  ?
