Question Maximum total track length and Energy deposit

Hi

I would like to ask about the implications to use the parameter Maximum total track length. I am calculating dose voxel kernel for a Y-90 source. In the validation process I am comparing my result with an other publication (2000) in general I have a dose underestimation. But I found that applying a Maximum total track length of 3mm to the electrons I obtain good results.

I am worry to be making a mistake using Maximum total track length, because if I am not wrong this parameter limits the particles track and forces the particles to deposit the energy at end of this track value. In the other hand can be that my reference publication is wrong considering the changes in MC codes.

I would like to have some help around this topic to understand if I am understanding well the parameter and to know the efecct in my calculations.

Best regards
