Hi Areg,

G4Track::GetTotalEnergyDeposit() does not include the energy carried by secondary particles. It is mostly the ionization energy loss. Thus, for the case of neutral particle, G4Track::GetTotalEnergyDeposit() is almost always zero, while there still can be a difference between pre- and post-step kinetic energies if the track generates secondary track(s).
