None Energy of the incident particle from the tracks

Dear all,

I am trying to calculate the energy of the incident particle by summing up all the tracks' energy like this:

if (aStep->GetTrack()->GetTrackStatus() != fAlive){

       G4double response = aStep->GetTrack()->GetTotalEnergy();

       eventaction->myAddEcal(response);
     }

This way I expect the added response from all such tracks should be exactly = the incident energy.

However, I ran this for a 1 GeV electron and I see summed up energy sometimes of the order of a TeV and sometimes 100's of GeV.

Could you please tell as to where I am going wrong?

Thanks in advance, Best Regards, Shilpi Jain
