Hello,

First, of all you post likely at wrong forum.

Second, it is not obvious where and why crash happens. You may use gdb debugger which can show you a trace of the crash.

The most important comment: step limitation is a frequently used feature of Geant4, so there should not be a problem. Practically in all our EM examples step limitation is implemented. There is G4StepLimiterBuilder which can be used directly - you do not need implement step limitation yourself. Try to use existing step limitations in EM examples in order to understand what is really needed for your application case.
