Question Saving with proper units

Forum: Event and Track Management

From: C Mos <C Mos>

Hello

I am saving my data into a TTree

//---------------------------------------

dataTree->Branch("kinEGam",&kinEGam);

G4double kinEGam;

kinEGam=aHit->GetEnergyInParticle());

dataTree->Fill();

//---------------------------------------

Is there a way to save my data into some desirable units? I have seen before doing something like this:

kinEGam=aHit->GetEnergyInParticle()) / MeV;

Is there a better way to do this, like for example telling the geant4 engine to always save (or output) in a particular user defined unit so I don't have to do an extra operation to my data when saving it?

Or geant4 always output in standard units, for example, energy is always always keV?

Thank you!

C.
