Click on the Forum title, e.g. on the "Forums by Category" page, to read a sequence of postings to the Forum and its threads all in one page. If you are only interested in one thread or the thread following a specific posting, click the thread or the posting, which takes you to a smaller page, which contains only the part you are interested in and may be easier to navigate.
Messages are "chained" if there are only replies at the first level, i.e. 1/1.html, 1/1/1.html etc. In case of "chained" messages the message number is replaced by the icon and there is no indentation.
Inline: Display the subject line only or also the text of the posting(s); for the choice "All" the "Outline" choices are switched off.
|1||0||1||no text / full text of posting|
|2||1||All||text for level 1 only / text for All postings|

The G4GeneralParticleSource is a sophisticated particle gun which can be use in place of the simpler G4ParticleGun in a G4 application. It was created initially for G4 space applications, but has since been expanded to meet some of the more specific requirements in accelerator experiment simulations. Some old documenets, e.g. URD,SSD and Users Manual, are available at
and there is also a more up-to-date version of the users manual available from the same site:
We are planning to carry out a design iteration of this large class, and are in the stage of collecting new requirements from the wider geant4 user community. I encourage everyone who has the need to use a complicated particle gun in an application to evaluate the current features available in G4GeneralParticleSource and send me any new requirements you can identify. Of course, comments and suggestions on how to improve the current code are also welcome.
