Dear Geant4 experts,
I知 a Phd student and I知 working in a research group, which investigated ion implantation profiles. I知 an absolute beginner in Geant4 and c++ programming, but first simulation for ion implantation profiles are running and I got good results. I知 using standardNR physiclist and geant4 version 9.4.
However now I知 interested in sputter yields and as far as I know there is ready made function in Geant4 to get sputter yields.
For the first simulation I would like to simulate the sputtered atoms in the same way like SRIM. Let us consider an arbitrary shape made from Si were recoil events are generated by an ion beam. Each recoil atom with a kinetic energy component which is parallel to the surface normal vector and greater than the surface binding energy, will lead to sputtered atom (atom will leave the solid body).
I知 trying to run this simulation task by writing a UserSteppingAction class. Via the class G4steppoint I can get the kinetic energy of the atom, but I don稚 know how to get surface normal vectors of my geometry at the surface boundary?
I would be very happy for any suggestions!
