Question Stopped track and secondaries

Forum: Event and Track Management
Date: 30 Jan, 2012
From: <Santos>

Dear all,

I have seen discussions related to particles being stopped in a volume: those can be checked by either checking status (Stopped and killed) or checking kinetic energy in the stepping action.

How do I make sure that not only a given particle, but all its secondaries as well, are stopped in the volume? Since keeping track of parents' PDG ID's is somewhat involved, can I deduce this information from the main track itself?

There is an "fKillTrackAndSecondaries" status, but it seems to be incorporated for use by the user only, I have yet to see the GEANT itself reporting this status.

Thank you, ST
