Sorry for being slightly off topic, but I figured this is a good place to
find specialised advice:

Could someone suggest learning resources (papers, books, presentations,
lectures, etc.) about to focus changed particle beams?

In my Geant4 simulations I am using a triplet of quadrapole magnets to focus
a beam of protons. The fields are idealised (eg, not fringe effects) and I
would like to learn more about how to model more realistic fields. Also,
how to optimise focusing based on magnet parameters and position (have been
using trial and error so far).

Finally, I am interested in Halbach cylinders and/or other promising
focusing approaches.

Resources that derive or list field equations seem particularly important,
but more general 'gentle introductions' would also be helpful for me. TIA
