Question segmentation fault running exampleB1 with geant4.9.6.p04 on linux

Forum: Documentation and Examples

From: Richard Gillham Darnley <Richard Gillham Darnley>

Hi,

I have just installed geant4.9.6.p04 on my Xubuntu (14.04 release). I have built exampleB1 to test my install of geant4 and I get a segmentation fault. This is the output I get from running './example B1':

richard@richard-nc10:~/B1-build$ ./exampleB1

Segmentation fault (core dumped)
richard@richard-nc10:~/B1-build$

Now I have looked at previous threads but could not find an answer to this problem. I vaguely remember reading somewhere that it could be that I do not have the latest video driver for my on-board graphics chip, but I have checked and it is (atleast to my newbie eyes).

I believe I have the correct x11 and mesa libraries, atleast there was no obvious error when building and installing geant4.

Can some one help me solve this issue?

Regards,

Richard
