Question Silicone polymer in Geant4 Material ?

Forum: Documentation and Examples
Date: 15 Feb, 2014
From: Wal <Wal>

Hello,

I am currently developing a medical application in which I have to define a silicone tube. In the G4 data base, I found the G4_SILICON_DIOXIDE which I thought to be suitable, but I have discovered that Silicone Dioxide is not the siliconE. The molecular formula is the same, but siliconE is a polymer, and thus has different chemical and physical properties. (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silicone)

May I ask you how to generate such a polymer ? I know how to build molecules from atoms, but don't know how to define a polymer.

Thank you very much !

Walid
