Question Execution Problems With Example B1

Forum: Documentation and Examples
Date: 15 Dec, 2013
From: Maluba Vernon <Maluba Vernon>

When I ran example B1 in my Ubuntu 12.04.3, I get the following message. Can anyone please help me with how to resolve this:

maluba@maluba-Satellite-C850-F32Z:~/GEANT4/geant4.9.6-build/B1$ ls CMakeCache.txt cmake_install.cmake exampleB1.in init.mac Makefile run2.mac CMakeFiles exampleB1 exampleB1.out init_vis.mac run1.mac vis.mac maluba@maluba-Satellite-C850-F32Z:~/GEANT4/geant4.9.6-build/B1$ ./exampleB1

Low energy electromagnetic data are needed. This is a NEW requirement for standard EM physics since geant4 9.5. Please set the environmental variable G4LEDATA to point to your G4EMLOW directory. Note: EMLOW6.23 or above is needed for Bremsstrahlung data. Data are available from the Geant4 download page.

Photon-evaporation data are needed. Please set the environmental variable G4LEVELGAMMADATA to point to your PhotonEvaporation directory. Data are available from the Geant4 download page.

G4NEUTRONXS are needed. Please set the environmental variable G4NEUTRONXSDATA to point to your G4NEUTRONXS directory. Data are available from the Geant4 download page.

It may also be worth mentioning here that I use ccmake: cmake-gui interface

and it does not always find the packages automatically (like was the case inthe choices above), especially when I turn on parameters such as GEANT4_USE_GDML, OPENGL, QT etc, even though I have installed these packages.

For example, I get this error when I set GDML, OpenGL, and QT in the ccmake:

 CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:91
 (MESSAGE):
Could NOT find OpenGL (missing: OPENGL_gl_LIBRARY)
Call Stack (most recent call first):
   /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:252
 (_FPHSA_FAILURE_MESSAGE)
   /usr/share/cmake-2.8/Modules/FindOpenGL.cmake:153 (FIND_PACKAGE_HANDLE_STANDARD_ARGS)
   cmake/Modules/Geant4InterfaceOptions.cmake:87 (find_package)
   CMakeLists.txt:84 (include)

I would appreciate very much if I got any help on how to work around these problems, especially how to be able to successfuly compile and generate after making changes on the required packages in the ccmake gui interface or simply put, is there a way of geting the required packages be successfuly installed in such a way that geant4 can automatically acceses them?
