I'm trying to look at the cross sections that Geant4 is using for neutrons going through neutron capture in He-3 gas. I'm using the Hadr00 example to get these cross sections but the cross sections that I'm getting, for both He-3 and He-4, don't match what ENDF gives me.
Let's work with He-4 first since it requires less modification with the example. What I'm doing is simply defining "G4_He" as my material and "neutrons" as my particle in the macro. I'm also using the QGSP_BIC_HP physics list. This should give me the different cross sections for neutrons impinging on He, but none of the cross sections match what's in ENDF's database. I've also tried using the FTFP_BIC_HP and the QBBC_BIC_HP physics lists, but to no avail.
Does anyone have an explanation why the cross sections don't match up?..am I doing something wrong?
After I solve this problem, I'll start worrying about getting He-3 to work.
Any ideas or suggestions would be really appreciated,
