The B1 example automatically executes init.mac or init_vis.mac (if your Geant4 is built with visualization). The error message "******Can not open a macro file <init_vis.mac>" means that you run the example from a directory where this macro is not present. You need to copy this macro (or better all *.mac files) from the example source directory in your working directory.

In Geant4 9.6, this step is automatic when building the examples with CMake.
