Hi Colin,

The error message

/usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/libXt.so when searching for -lXt

is usually a symptom of 32/64bit problems. Are you running on an i*86 or x86_64 machine? It looks like you're running on x86_64 but the linker is finding the 32bit libraries.
