Question Untitled

Keywords: low energy ionization, listing 5.2.1, electromagnetic processes
Forum: Documentation and Examples
Date: 02 Jul, 2002
From: Elena Novikova <Elena Novikova>

I am pretty sure there is an error in the User Manual,
section 5.2.1 "Electromagnetic interactions." In the Listing 5.2.1,
the following fragment can be found:

    else if (particleName == "e-") {

      theLEIonisation = new G4LowEnergyIonisation();
      theLEBremsstrahlung = new G4LowEnergyBremsstrahlung();
      theeminusMultipleScattering = new G4MultipleScattering();

      pmanager->AddProcess(theeminusMultipleScattering,-1,1,1);
      ///pmanager->AddProcess(theLEIonisation,-1,2,2);
      pmanager->AddProcess(theLEIonisation,-1,-1,2);
      pmanager->AddProcess(theLEBremsstrahlung,-1,-1,3);

The line that's commented out is the correct line, which
should NOT be commented out. Instead, the line right after
the commented out line should be deleted or commented out.
The correct code should look like this:

    else if (particleName == "e-") {

      theLEIonisation = new G4LowEnergyIonisation();
      theLEBremsstrahlung = new G4LowEnergyBremsstrahlung();
      theeminusMultipleScattering = new G4MultipleScattering();

      pmanager->AddProcess(theeminusMultipleScattering,-1,1,1);
      pmanager->AddProcess(theLEIonisation,-1,2,2);
      pmanager->AddProcess(theLEBremsstrahlung,-1,-1,3);

If this correction is not made, then the low energy ionization
process is included incorrectly, in my opinion, because the
AlongStepDoIt step is not turned on.

Am I right?

Thanks.
