Hello,

  On reviewing the various examples cited and the documentation, what it seems like my most economical route to what I want to do is this:

  1)  Since I want to record hits on a plane, this is similar to what is done in the provided scorer G4PSFlatSurfaceCurrent.  This scorer only records "current".
  2)  So, given 1), start from there and inherit to make a new scorer, and over-ride the function G4PSFlatSurfaceCurrent::ProcessHits to do what I want with AIDA, making use of the Step methods:  

  // difference of position, time, momentum and energy
   G4ThreeVector GetDeltaPosition() const;
   G4double GetDeltaTime() const;

   G4ThreeVector GetDeltaMomentum() const;
   G4double GetDeltaEnergy() const;

From which I can get information to make my space/velocity histogram.

It seems I can get the weight and the particle species from the track that is part of the step.

I have not tried this but it seems workable.
