the current version of JAIDA does not support writing hbook files.

You could change the code to create a file with the .aida
extension and the call to createTree to use "xml" rather than "hbook".

The .aida file is readable by the PI, OpenScientist and JAS 
of AIDA.

I guess that only the PI and OpenScientist AIDA implementations can 
write out hbook files.
