None xml vs hbook ???

Hi all,
I have a running code that writes out an ntuple file in xml format.
It works fine and creates an ntuple file with the following line
ITreeFactory* treeFactory = analysisFactory->createTreeFactory();
 if(treeFactory)  tree = treeFactory->create("test.aida","xml",false,true,"compress=yes");

I would like to be able read it with paw so decided to write it as hbook file and
my understanding from the examples is that all I have to change
 if(treeFactory) tree = treeFactory->create("test.hbk","hbook",false,true);

However code runs just fine w/o ant problem but does not write/create any ntuple file at all !?? Could anyone tell me what am I missing here?

thanks much,

a. ayan
