Hi Chris,

   Thanks for helping out. I had also posted this to the ROOT forum and based on
feedback I got just now it may possibly have something to do with the way ROOT 
is visualizing the particle positions. I don't want to waste your time, so I will share
the src files with you if that turns out not to be the case.

By the way, the simulation is that of 20 MeV electrons striking several thin layers 
(representing an imaging plate) at right angle and being scattered by them. The electron 
gun is positioned at one end of a cylindrical chamber and the scattering layers are 
placed at the other end. I am recording and visualizing the coordinates of the 
primaries and secondaries as they cross the chamber/World boundary having 
propagated through the layers or backscattered from them.
