Just to say that we have some "offline thread" of work going on for this hypernew. Already, one side effect is that I have done a CYGWIN/g++ binary kit for the osc_batch kit of the OSC-16. It is available on the OSC download area. It may be usefull for others. (And it contains all the storage drivers, including hbook). In fact this kit would be a "natural" one for people working on a Windows by using CYGWIN and g++ (which is the "natural" compiler in this case). The installation instruction is the same than for other UNIXes. In particular the aida-config of this kit should be ok. I have not yet a CYGWIN/VC binary kit but I think of it. But here someone can use anyway the include and libs of the osc_batch kit done with VC and workable from a DOS promp. If working from CYGWIN with a CLHEP, Geant4 done with the VC compiler, someone has to setup by hand the usual env variables : G4ANALYSIS_AIDA_CONFIG_CFLAGS, LIBS to point to the include and libs of the DOS/VC osc_batch kit. It should work on the G4 examples that uses AIDA. Note that here the "aida-config --incs and --libs" of this kit is not directly exploitable from CYGWIN since it returns infos targeted for someone working from DOS. (In particular, the pathes are at the Windows/DOS syntax and not at the UNIX/CYGWIN syntax). Guy
