  First, you can't "execute" a .aida file since the file contains
data and not a program. Then by "open", I assume that you want
to open the file by using some interactive tool in order for example
to browse the file and plot the histos and / or manipulate the tuples.

  If so, then with OpenScientist-16, one interactive program is "onxlab"
and you can open the file by using the "File/Open AIDA XML file..." 
menu item. (With OpenScientist-15 and before the program was "lab").

  Note that with this same program you can in principle open .aida
files but also .hbook and .root files.
