Hi gao, this error normally indicates that your terminal is unable to open an X windows connection to your display. Most likely either your DISPLAY environment variable is not set (correctly) or your X permissions are set to not allow you to open a window, or you are not running an X windows server at all. 

You can diagnose the problem by trying a command like:

xclock

If that doesn't open a window on your screen JAS/JAIDA won't be able to either.
