What you experience may be due to the collection of dose. How do you collect dose?

Also, it is very important to understand if your system is using Hyperthreading or not. If you do use Hyperthreading, you cannot expect full scaling out of that because Hyperthreading only can give ~30% more performances.

However given you see more performances using geantinos I would think that the first is the real case. You can also try to use the commands: /run/pinAffinity and /run/eventModulo to see if you can optimize performances.
