Hello all,
I wondered if anybody knew the cause of and how to fix the problem I am having. The problem started a couple of weeks ago when the server was updated at work, once the server was back up and running again the first time I tried to make one of the examples I was greeted with a message beginning;
"ls: cannot access CLHEP_BASE_DIR--UNDEFINED: No such file or directory ../../../config/architecture.gmk:325: ../../../config/sys/.gmk: No such file or directory Making dependency for file exampleN......" by running through parts of the installation procedure from the SLAC guide I was able to get it working again, but the next day I would experience the same problem. Thinking it was a server issue I formatted an old computer from home and installed only cygwin, C++ express, Geant4, CLHEP, WinXP SP2 and Avast so my computer wasnt killed when I connected it the internet to download the components to use Geant4, on it... this worked fine until the antivirus software decided everything remotely Unix related was going to kill my computer and I was presented with the same problem. yesterday I opted for a fresh install of everything Geant4 related on the old system and everything was working fine again (except for an issue with visualisation but that is a another bridge to cross) but today I have been presented with the same errors... I just dont know what could be changing on my computer whilst its switched off... the obvious option for me now is it getting working again and never turn the computer off (which Im going to do), but I was just wondering if anybody knew what could be causing it and if there is an easy fix to resolve it ? cheers and all the best Nick
