Question simulation of process alpha+11B -> 14N+n in boron doped neutron shielding

Dear all,

I am simulating the neutron attenuation of a shielding of polyethylene doped with 5% of B. I have seen that, besides the well known reaction n + 10B -> 7Li + alpha, there is also the reaction alpha + 11B -> 14N + n whose cross section has a resonance peak in the zone 1-2 MeV (where the alpha from the previous reaction are emitted). My question is then: is this second reaction implemented in GEANT4? if yes, which physical process I have to insert in my physics list to simulate this reaction?

Thank you. Amanda Porta

Geant4 has no such process in the energy range you are interested in. There is an alpha process meant for higher energies but it is rather crude an does not display any resonance behavior or nuclear excited states.
