I am trying to model HPGe to estimate its efficiency. The detector is known to have 100% relative efficiency at 1.33 MeV. That corresponds to 1.2e-2 absolute efficiency in full energy peak. I get the answer right for NaI 3''x3'' at 25cm, however the efficiency of Ge for some reason comes out ~1.8e-2 (i.e. ~50% higher). I can't think of anything that would reduce the efficiency that much. Was anyone able to reach good agreement between experiemental and simulated efficiencies for HPGe?
